Michael Joseph Dunne, known to his loved ones as Joe, passed away peacefully at his home in Naples, Florida at the age of 90. Joe’s life was filled with love, dedication, and a strong work ethic that left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Born in Syracuse, NY to Irish immigrant parents, Joe’s journey began at St. Vincent de Paul School before he pursued a degree in Accounting at LeMoyne College. It was during this time that he met his beloved wife, Betty, and together they embarked on a lifelong journey of love and companionship.

Joe’s professional career was marked by dedication and integrity, as he rose through the ranks to become a partner at Coopers & Lybrand, LLC. His commitment to his community extended beyond the office, as he served on various boards and organizations, leaving a legacy of honesty and support.

In retirement, Joe and Betty enjoyed summers at their cottage on Wolfe Island, where Joe could often be found taking pictures of family, nature, and sunsets. His love for boating and fishing brought joy to those around him, and his generosity knew no bounds.

Joe’s impact on his family, friends, and community will be remembered for years to come. His legacy lives on through his wife, daughter, granddaughters, and the countless lives he touched throughout his lifetime.

A funeral mass will be held in Naples, Florida, followed by interment in DeWitt, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Joe and Betty Dunne Scholarship Fund at LeMoyne College or St. Margaret Catholic Church.
