Medical Company Facing Legal Action and Potential Contract Termination
The Michigan Institute for Forensic Science and Medicine (MIFSM) is facing legal troubles as one county may be looking to terminate their contract due to bounced payroll checks and other issues. Despite having contracts with eight counties in Michigan, Huron County is considering ending their contract with MIFSM as some of the company’s vehicles have been repossessed.
The company, founded by Doctor David Stockman, is also facing a lawsuit from a forensic pathologist who claims he is owed over $51,000. The pathologist refused to retract his statements made in recent newscasts, which Stockman allegedly requested as part of a settlement agreement.
In addition to the legal issues with bounced payroll checks, MIFSM is also facing a federal lawsuit from a dermatologist who claims he is owed over $140,000 for virtual dermatology appointments. Stockman is under investigation by the Attorney General’s office, although there is no active arrest warrant at this time.
The situation with MIFSM and Stockman continues to unfold as counties and individuals seek legal action against the company. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
