ICAN President Charges New Associate Accounting Technicians to Uphold Integrity and Accuracy

The 60th President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Davidson Alaribe, delivered a powerful message to the 828 new Associate Accounting Technicians during their induction ceremony at the ICAN Centre in Lagos. Emphasizing the importance of integrity and accuracy in their profession, Alaribe urged the inductees to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.

As the leader of the institute, Alaribe reminded the new members to always prioritize integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, professional behavior, and professional competence in their work. He warned that any deviation from these principles could result in disciplinary action from the institute.

During the ceremony, Alaribe led the inductees in taking their oath of allegiance, symbolizing their commitment to upholding the values of the accounting profession. With over 32,000 associate accounting technicians in the Association of Accountancy Bodies in West Africa, the new members join a prestigious community of professionals dedicated to excellence.

The Vice President of ICAN and Chairman of the AAT Executive Committee, Haruna Yahaya, also addressed the inductees, encouraging them to seize opportunities for professional development and make positive contributions to their respective sectors. In recognition of her outstanding performance in the examinations, Miss Ayomide Faleye was awarded the prestigious ICAN Silver Scholarship, earning her the title of beneficiary of the star prize.
